Otavalo, Ecuador

August 8-23, 2009

A Technology Services Corps (TSC) team of 14 Garfield students and 3 adult chaperones will be traveling to Otavalo, Ecuador in August, in order to set up two networked computer labs in local schools. The Garfield students will teach students and staff at the schools in the use and maintenance of the computers. In preparation for the trip. the TSC team is volunteering at InterConnection, a non-profit computer recycling center in Seattle (See Photos).

If you’d like to donate to support the trip, please contact us. A donation of $85 covers the cost of one refurbished computer and brings a world of opportunity to students in schools where technology resources are limited or non-existent.

Donors’ names will be listed on a TSC banner which will hang in one of the computer labs.

Thanks, in advance, for your interest and support. Watch for the trip blog on this website starting in August!
